From winning blue ribbons with her charcoals at a Florence, South Carolina county fair to studying painting in Provence and London, Kelly Barnes Rightsell is constantly progressing as an artist. Her early success in art education and printmaking studies earned her a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts from East Carolina University. She then taught art to elementary school children, freeing up her summers to develop her skills at such schools as Penland School of Arts and Crafts in North Carolina Mountains and London's Blackheath School of Art.
